Your antenna is bad or the APIM is not supplying the correct voltage to the antenna. These readings are taken from the GPS receiver in the APIM module. They are only displayed on the Sync screen thru the diagnostic menus.
I am curious since the 2018 Raptors all come with the 4" screen, unless you have the 801a package, if you upgraded from that or did you have the Sync 3 originally?
It originally had SYNC 3 - 4" correct - w/o NAV - I did a 4dtech 8" w/ Nav and then I found out over 1 year later that the VIN does not allow FoMoCo web downloads for updating the mapsā¦āIām sorry your vehicle does not have Navigationā.
I talked to ford support - they said see your local dealer. Yeah NOT.
30 years in AuotTech/computer drags and 20+ as IT Admin - I donāt think so.
I will figure it out.
4DTech has a 1 Year warranty on the antenna if that helps. These are cheaply made antennas. I have had this one in my 2015 F150 for over 3 years, no issues.
well thank you but it is well over 1 year on 4d Tech conversion and they denied any liability of being able to update maps on their system. which is typical for today.
The truck already had factory GPS antenna that up to attempting map upgrade was working fine.
So you did not have Sync 3 with the 4". That is known as Sync 1.1 and is different. I have seen what you are describing personally and the fix was a change with Forscan. I donāt know what digit it was or I would be glad to tell you. We reloaded a saved profile after we did our upgrade and that solved the problem. Like F150chief said those antennas they give you are pretty cheep. I have had them go bad. The good news is if you are going to troubleshoot it they are cheep to buy and try that.
If you have used Forscan(I did not see that you mentioned it) than try downloading a 2018 Raptor with Sync 3 AsBuilt from Ford and using those settings.
