Hi, after upgrading from Sync 1 to Sync 3, I’m having trouble hearing calls. My car’s microphone works fine, and the ringtone is also audible. The only problem is that I can’t hear anything through my car speakers.
My ACM original is… BM5T-18C815-NJ of ford Focus ST 2014
mi new APIM is JK2T-14G371-CCC
Not a lot of information, but…
While you are in a call, have you tried turning up the volume on your phone and on Sync?
Have you tried a Master Reset?
Re-pairing the phone?
Yes, I’ve tried all of that. I’ve tried two different phones, and I can’t hear anything through the speakers. Note: I didn’t provide any additional information to clarify my point. Thanks for the response.
I am having the same issue. Upgraded from 4 inch screen to 8 inch screen. Reformatted the sync system to newest version. Everything is good except the sound for the phone.
Same Thing Happened on my 2nd vehicle, I have 2 ford Trucks Both are F250, Upgraded the 4inch screen to the 8 inch screen, also updated the software on both to the latest software, everything works except for the sound from the phone, bluetooth music works but not the phone and it has the sane issue on both trucks, any ideas will help i have tried master reset and soft reset on both
Just to be clear, and I apologize if you are aware of this, but you need to turn up the volume on sync at the same time that you are endeavouring to speak to someone when calling or answering a call on the phone.
I realize this was mentioned earlier by @F150Chief but just checking that you were aware that you must be actually ‘trying’ to speak to someone when increasing the volume as nothing will change if you increase the volume when hearing the ringtone.
The same applies to the Nav voice if you have GPS.
Solution: With Forscan, go to the “main module + hidden and engineering mode” configuration and look for the “TouchScreen” option. Select Sync 3 or “8-inch screen” there. This tells the BCM that your Sync 1 is now Sync 3. For other models, this usually has to be done through the ACM via AsBuilt, but for models like mine, the BCM controls this setting.
