Parking Aid Button

Hello,

I installed the park aid and camera hard buttons next to the hazard button but I cant seem to enable it through Forscan to be able to disable or enable the parking sensors.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Does the camera button work?

Year/Model/Trim ?
You may have to make changes in the APIM as well as the BCM and PAM.

No, the buttons have been added by me. Before that the only button there was the hazard button.

It’s a 2020 Explorer XLT.

I don’t have the PAM on forscan.

I’m able to have the Park Aid button show up in the screen on reverse but if you tap it. It doesn’t change

That means you have missing settings on another module or an incompatible firmware/calibration somewhere in the car.
To use an example, with my 2018 Fusion I had added the heated/cooled seats buttons to my APIM screen with the factory J series APIM and they worked without any problem.
When I dropped an L series APIM in, they showed, would echo what the FCIM was set to but didn’t function. I had to update the firmware/calibration of the FCIM before they would work.

How can I update those modules?

You’re going to need a paid ForScan license and version 2.4.x of ForScan and there’s no way to tell what modules may need to be updated.
Updating firmware/calibration on modules is a minefield, do it wrong, load the wrong firmware/calibration, have the laptop go to sleep or car shutdown and you’ve got a good chance of bricking a module.

Ah I see. I don’t know if I want to risk bricking anything.

I do have a paid version of forscan and have dabbled around in settings.
