Problems after Update from Ford website

Hello,

After performing the update, I’m having major problems with my Sync. Everything is completely frozen or lagging, making it impossible to use, which is very frustrating with kids in the car who want to listen to their music.

What can I do to fix this?

Yes i did, but it doesent help.

How was 3.0.23219 installed?
Was this by USB or other?
What version was the unit on before you installed the update?

Guessing from the date of the maps, I’m guessing that you updated from an early Sync 2.0 version, which skipped Sync 2.2.17101 when you updated. This and the old maps would cause some compatibility issues.

I have downloaded the files from the Ford website and copy them on an 32GB exFat normal formatet USB Device.

After the installation, I uploaded the log file to Ford again, and everything was shown as OK and completed.

So the next step should have been to update the maps? Or am I misunderstanding this?
Unfortunately, I can’t remember the previous version exactly.

Would it help if I updated to 3.4.23188 and downloaded the data, including maps, via the Sync3 Updater?

You will need to pay for the maps to update what you have now. Going to 3.4 would require a reformat of the APIM using the Syn3 Updater, and remember you cannot go back once you do that. However, there should be no issues with upgrading to Sync 3.4 with your vehicle.
