I have a 2014 Escape Titanium with reverse sensors (including the beeping and the green, yellow, red boxes showing as guides in the rear camera view when backing up), but without parking assist.
Recently, I bought a kit to upgrade to Sync 3 for Carplay. Everything works fine, including the rear camera, but my car lost the reverse sensors. It no longer displays the green / yellow / red boxes when reversing and also doesn’t make the alert sounds when I’m close to an object.
I tried using FORscan to change the APIM (7D0-01-01 x*xx xxxx xxxx from 3 to A), as suggested by in a post at fordescape.org, but that didn’t work.
This is my original APIM.abt file (after I upgraded to Sync 3 but before I made the change with FORscan). Someone at fordescape.org suggested I come here for help, as this looks like a bad APIM config.
Your old Sync 2 AB file should not be used on Sync 3 so dont fall back on that anymore. Unless someone beats me to it I will look at you AB later and let you know what changes to make, if any. Did you try a LINBUS calibration?
Is everything else working fine? So just the guidlines and distance?
Side note, was the seller unable/unwilling to help you? Just curious or did they dake your money and run?
So I don’t know if this is my Sync 2 AB file? When I bought the Sync 3 kit, I gave the seller my VIN number so they can program the unit before shipping. What I posted above is the AB file after I installed the kit and almost everything in Sync 3 is working.
Everything else was working fine for 2-3 days after the installation… until I tried making these two changes using FORscan, and now my Sync 3 dims when ignition is on and almost unusable. When in accessory mode, it is perfect brightness, but as soon as ignition starts, it dims. Changing brightness in display setting does not do anything (Ok so it seems the first change I tried to make (from this post in fordescape.org) actually caused my screen to dim. Fixed based a post here by changing 7D0-01-01 x*xx xxxx xxxx to B):
7D0-01-01 x*xx xxxx xxxx from 3 to A - to try to enable rear sensors
7D0-04-01 xxxx xxxx **xx from 00 to 08 - to try to change the bluetooth pairing name (can’t tell if this worked yet)
ETA: Oh and to answer your question… the seller on ebay said they can help me if there are issues, but I have to install some app on my laptop that allows them to log in remotely, which I don’t want to do.
And… I’m not sure how to do a LINBUS calibration, so no, I haven’t tried it But will look it up and see if I am able to do it.
