Retrofit from Sync 1 to 3 Used OEM Radio

Hello guys.
I hope someone can give a help.
I’m retrofitting a radio from Sync 1 to Sync 3 in a 2011 Ford Focus, and we’re using an original radio from another donor Ford Focus. The radio itself already has Sync 3.0, but I don’t have Navigation Voice or Bluetooth voice. When people call, they can’t hear me, and I can’t hear them when they call me.
I can’t log in, and it doesn’t even show me the APIM Module configuration section (AS BUILT format). And I paid for the one-year version. Basically, it won’t let me do anything in ForScan.

  1. Should I return the original radio?
  2. Buy the APIM kit and try it?
  3. Buy one on Amazon that fits and is valid?*

In the that is de originall radio.

You probably need to be connecting FORScan thru CC. How to program Central Configuration using FORScan - FORScan forum

Or maybe a better OBD adapter…There is a list of approved adapters on the FORScan Forum.

Sync 1 to Sync 3 is not likely a direct swap, you will probably need a wiring kit of some kind.

I have the cable conversion kit. But I don’t know if I should also buy the upgrade kit with the API and display and return the original radio.

OEM Radio from donor.

OBD dongles with a switch like the one you have are not good. Get one of the recommended products from the FORScan website/forum and you’ll have much fewer problems.

Okay Thanks so much. I’ll buy it right now from Amazon, the same one recommended in the Forscan forum, and see if that can solve the problem.

How can I know how much capacity the radio has and where I can look exactly?

I have a Vgate Vlinker FS USB (in addition to a much more expensive J2534 tool) and it works great. It used to be on the FORScan recommended list, but they had a falling out with the developers due to some computer compatibility and customer support issues. It tends to be cheaper than the OBDLink alternative.
