Hi - I am going to buy used APIM with Sync 3 to upgrade my Fiesta from S2.5 to S3. I already have all wirings required for S3 to replace after S2.5 but I have question - is it better to buy APIM from 2017-2018 (H1BT-14G371-FGA) and upgrade it to latest version or it is better to buy APIM from 2022 (NU5T-14G371-GAA)? My car is a Fiesta from 2020 with factory and fully working TCU so I want also to save full functionality of Telemetry :).
I know that new APIMs cannot be ‘as easy’ updated as old one. Please advise… Thanks!
Please skip ACM topic - I have two full sets (APIM + ACM) to choose, so it is not imporant in that topic.
The general recommendation would be to avoid MY20 hardware (both for the screen and APIM), so that you could easily reformat it should you need or desire to.
Latest models such as J or K series APIMs are good, but beware there are some J and K series that are MY20. Always check the sticker if possible, and also our hardware db. And of course, you can always double check by asking here.
About telemetry, wait for others to comment on that, maybe there’s something related to calibration or an specific model to avoid.
Thanks for the advice!
All in all, I can present specifically what I have managed to hunt down. For our miserable ‘zloty’ it’s a good price for a complete set. I have the same screen in Sync 2.5 as here which is interesting
Oh, then I have to search for another one…
I looking at https://allegro.pl/oferta/ford-fiesta-mk8-radio-nawigacja-dotyk-13252367059 - H1BT-14G371-FGA so it will be 100% sure that this is before MY20 - is there’s no very big differences between latest APIMs and the old one, I will buy it probably - only TCU topic left - I know that APIM change/adding will not reset any TCU configurations, I tested it on F150 and all works good after APIM replacement. But I want to be sure if old APIMs are compatible with TCU.
Hi guys
I retrofitted JK2T-14G371-FCC APIM from 04.2018 (with Sync 3.0 on board) + H1BT-18C815-VN (ACM). Everything (from audio) was working perfectly fine.
All was working so I’ve done configuration update in APIM to MY 18.5 because not all feature were working with my 2020 Fiesta (for ex. turning off when I was opening driver’s door). After configuration update all started to work.
So after that I managed to update Sync to 3.4 first available version (19101) + F9 maps (because sync don’t allowed me just skip to newest version + F12 maps).
After this update I’ve lost option to change radio from AM to FM/DAB/Bluetooth - when I am trying to change it, just back to AM. ACM wasn’t updated in any way.
I tried to install latest version of Sync 3.4.23188 but still no possibilty to change audio source.
Is there any suggestion who to do to make ACM and APIM to talk together?
APIM DTC: U0238:00 (Lost comm with Digital ACM D)
ACM DTC: B1A06:13 (Speaker #6) and U201A:57 (Control Module Main Calibration Data) - Invaild/Incompatible SW Component
Even TCU + Wi-Fi Hotspot is working perfectly…
ACM conf in Forscan looks the same as CTR conf Even connecting CTR (Sync 2.5) instead of ACM it just works, but really communicating with Sync 3
Attaching ACM built:
UPDATE: I MANAGED TO RESOLVE IT!
I just changed 7D0-02-02 from xxxx-xxCx-xxxx to xxxx-xx7x-xxxx and all works.
Also updated speakers info so no error about speaker #6
Strangely U0238 (APIM) and U201A:57 (ACM) left but… all works, so mb don’t have to worry. Only “TU DU DU” is very loud when starting the car, does somebody maybe know how to get it quieter?
