Sync 3 Build 23219 Reformat

I have only ever updated Sync using files available from the Ford website, however I occasionally get the USB updating message on the screen which makes me think something has gone wrong with one of the updates at somepoint. It’s weird how it is intermittent, but I’m sure there is some logic to it!

I am wondering if I can use the downgrade process for Sync 3.4 but replace the file and Autoinstall reference with the 23219 build to re-install sync and try and sort it out?

Is that a mad idea?

Thanks for any help!

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: Official Ford

Before you do anything try a master reset if not already done.

Thank you @wiz043 . I tried this and it didn’t seem to do fix the issue.

Do I understand that I can just download files from here (SYNC 3 APIM Software (IVSU) Database - CyanLabs) with the Autoinstall and pop them on a USB drive to see if one of them sorts it out lol?

This is my current sync version JR3T-14G381-AY - SYNC 3 APIM Software (IVSU) Database - CyanLabs so might start with that.

Why not just update to the latest version 3.4.23188 with free maps through the Cyanlabs updater using 3.0.23219 as your current version.

Just follow the video top left in the link and the Syn3Updater download is further down on the left.
And ensure that you do not remove the usb stick early when advised but allow the system to reboot and continue as advised in the video.

Also remember to do a master reset when the upload in the car is finished.

Be aware though, that once you go down the Cyanlabs track you have left the Ford update ‘fold’ and you you should disable automatic updates if enabled.

Do you have auto updates enabled?.
What you are saying does not make a lot of sense, specially after a master reset.

Are you super sure there’s no USB connected to the vehicle?.
