Sync 3 retrofit, waze not "speaking" and whatsapp not reading messages

after retrofitting snyc 3 into a 2015 Taurus I recently tried updating my sync 3 apim and sadly bricked it, the replacement APIM worked with Siri after I changed some ACM asbuilt bits (AC is original to the car)

Siri works perfectly (ex, reading my messages as well as voice commands) I noticed though Waze doesn’t talk (aside from muting my music) even though I tried playing with the volume. I thought it might be a Waze issue but I noticed when reading out my Whatsapp messages sync will immediately skip the whole message and ask do I want to reply?

I’ve googled the Whatsapp issues but haven’t found anything, I tested Waze with Android auto and had the same experience.

That’s an AA and Waze issue. There is not individual settings for the different apps or phones.

Waze is no longer supported in Sync 3. Waze no longer supports SDL which is what Sync uses. You’ll have to use Android Auto or CarPlay.

Fair, though what about whatsapp? It’s not silently reading the messages over carply it’s just skipping past them and asking if I’d like to reply.

I am having the same thing with What’s app. Has worked fine last few years but last week not reading them and just asks if I want to reply?? Help.

I was not using it through applink, this is waze/whatsapp through carplay. Though android auto had the same issue

I am using CarPlay on sync 3 in Ford with iPhone plugged in via USB. Same issue.
