Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever been in a forum with such patient help delivered so quickly. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate you all!
Awesome!, glad it worked.
Remember, you are now outside Ford’s path, so disable automatic updates to avoid Ford pushing a 4’’ update your way. If it happens, it’s not the worst and is recoverable, but it’s better to avoid that, right?, since you now have an 8 inch screen.
Thank you for the words, but let me tell you were a good user as well: you have read your stuff beforehand, you researched, you were well informed… So, easy case…
And now, you have an adapter to play with, so win - win.
I will also recommend saving the configurations before modifying them, so that in case something goes wrong, you have a base working asbuilt backup to recover from.
This change you have made is super minor, but take that into consideration in the future, just to be safe.
Thank you! Yes, I disabled automatic updates as soon as you mentioned that a few days ago but you’re right, even if that happens now I know how to fix it. And I did save the the asbuilt in Forscan before doing anything else… I’ve seen enough tutorials that mentioned that same thing.
I’m also planning on writing up my experience and posting back in the Transit forums for the next person to try this particular mod. Might as well pay it forward!
Thanks again for all your help!
I will give you a pro tip when using Forscan. Make sure you save your module ASBuilt before you start messing with things. This way if you mess something up you can reload it and be all good again.
Thanks, all! For anyone who bumps into this in the future, I’ve documented my experience over on the Ford Transit forums:
Now I’m off to drop some money in the CyanLabs donate box and then go blast some tunes in my new van. Thanks again for all your help!
