i have a 2016 F150 with Nav, Current build is 3.0 23219. Im trying to update to the lastest 3.4. I have done everything correct on the usb side. When i plug it into my truck it says complete and to unplug the usb and then the screen goes black. (i dont remove the usb) but instead of it downloading the update and what not it literally just does a soft reset and boots back to what it was originally. why wont it boot into the downloader?
No installer log?
The link is a image of what im talking about. It wont get to that point. it just goes black and doesn’t update
You need to wait until thats finished before the update will begin, again post the installer log.
I understand i need to wait to finish but it wont even get to that point. that picture is off someone’s tutorial because mine wont even get to that
Read and follow the guide instead of going at it blindly → Basic Usage - CyanLabs
And in the future, create a proper Syn3 thread instead of this random “does not work” thread without proper information. There’s a template asking for information for a reason.
after looking at the “basic usage” i did everything correct. i had no clue to how use this website and create a “proper” thread. i think my point got across no matter what thread i use. not a big deal dawg
We need certain information to base our suggestions on, if you give no info then we can’t help.
Giving information from someone else’s setup is absolutely useless to us.
Posting pic’s from other websites is just giving false information. Thats like telling you Dr your head hurts when your foot is broken.
You have a really old Gen 1 Sync 3 APIM. It was NEVER meant to go to 3.4 so there is a bit of risk doing this upgrade.
Also posting logs would tell everyone where you went wrong doing this.
How do you determine what generation of the sync 3 you have
There was no “false information” posted i sent a picture of what’s SUPPOSED to happen on everyone’s update. except it didn’t happen on mine, it was the only way to explain it to you guys. Fortunately i figured it out on my own and updated my “really old” system and it works just fine on latest software, little to well if I’m being honest ;D
I’m glad you’re sorted now, don’t slam the door on the way out.
‘settings > general > about sync’.
It will show version and build no. and lower down map version if you have nav.
Didn’t you show these details on another thread?
