TCU Retrofit no controls in Ford Pass

I’ll raise this again.
The 2013 Fusion was a one off year for a LOT of the logic including the BCM & PCM.
If you’re going to play with flashing modules make sure you get a screen shot of what you have before you start and also download it to your laptop from Ford’s servers.
You should also save the existing AB directly from the PSCM as the one on Ford’s AB site lacks all of the vehicle specific info.

Hi, I had the same issue, I have a 2013 CMAX Energi, I upgraded sync 2 MFT to sync 3. I replaced the TCU with the new 4g model I used Forscan and did the PMI, the vehicle showed up in Ford pass but could not do the lock/unlock or remote start. I finally figured the problem, I had to use the Ford OEM scantool “IDS” to run the PMI procedure, it took well over 6-8 hours for some reason I had a battery charger on the car, I went to bed and in the morning the vehicle finished programming and I verified the functions were available on the Ford Pass app, lock/unlock and remote start. Everything works normally. Hope this helps.

I accidentally replied to you on warlocks post, hop that helps

A lot of folks don’t realize that while ForScan is a great tool it doesn’t always have the same functionality as Ford IDS/FDRS which feed into Ford’s servers.

As an example, when I updated my TCU ForScan offered me -*M right off the bat while IDS only offered -*J, after using IDS to update to -*J then on the next pass IDS offered me -*M. My gut tells me there was a pre-req requirement somewhere that required -*J first, I may be wrong but I’m used to things in the software world requiring stepped installs to work right.

The OP made a lot of assumptions about how logic in the vehicle worked without understanding how things interacted (eg enabling remote start in a car that was key start required more than flipping a few bits with ForScan).
Fuel level and range in FordPass populates from the cluster and requires the right firmware there, TPMS also populates from there and in the OPs case would have required replacing the cluster with one from a 2015 Fusion (these had more memory to handle the larger firmware load and you could turn on by wheel TPMS) as well as going to J series TCU.

Could you please leave well enough alone already.

You’ve continued to be condescending in your replies and make assumptions about what I think and know. I tried to be nice about it, but even when I have remote start working through the TCU without having to get a remote start module you act like I didn’t know what I was talking about about. I knew I wouldn’t need to have that with the TCU, but tried to be nice.

I never said I wanted by wheel TOMS I just wanted to see if it was working in general after having flashed new firmware on my IPC, which does have a low pressure indicator even if not available by tire.

Please just unfollow this thread.

I honestly don’t feel like paying for IDS in this case since I can use apple shortcuts and set them up in tasker for my person phone now as well as my work phone.
If I ever have another project that just won’t work without IDS at all I’ll probably give that a try though.

If you have issues with well meaning people who are just popping by to help then i suggest it’s you that should ‘unfollow’ this forum.

I don’t know if you didn’t read through this thread or if you are interpreting things differently than me. To me warlock started off trying to be helpful but hadn’t actually looked at anything I posted since he was asking for information about what my asbuilt, firmware, ect and telling me I needed to make changes that were already done and images of them posted.

If mods feel I’m wrong about this they can warn or ban me and it is what it is because that means this isn’t the community I believed it to be when I’ve read through threads previously. Only time I’ve seen this sort of thing was when people didn’t provide anything requested of them that would be necessary.

Seriously you have a shit attitude, maybe a ban would be better for everyone.
