Good day! I live in Europe. I have a 2019 Ford Fusion, and I have the following problem. I purchased a telematics unit for the car, number LV4T-14G229-FM, and after a while I noticed that the unit goes to sleep 20-30 minutes after I locked the car. And after half an hour, FordPass stops working. How can I fix this? Very convenient app. I’ve searched through many forums and so far no one has solved this problem. Maybe I need to recode something in the TCU unit? Or in BdCM?
What was the MY/model/trim of the donor?
LV4T would indicate it came out of an Escape/Kuga/Maverick.
If the config in the unit doesn’t match the vehicle you’ll have this happen find a VIN for a Mondeo in your country that had a TCU.
Also check the calibration level in the unit, there’s a stack or TSBs for early versions of the firmware causing the unit to go to deep sleep for no reason in some cases and in others cause dead batteries due to never going to sleep.
From the factory, this car had an American TCU unit with the number KS7T-14G229-AH, since it does not work on European frequencies, it was replaced with a TCU from Kuga 2020. And tell me, how can I see the calibration level? And what is TSB?
You would need ForScan to see the calibration level.
TSB=Technical Service Bulletin
I would look for the VIN from a 2019MY+ Mondeo to get an AsBuilt with the correct values in it
And in which block is the TSB parameter in ForScan? Do you need my VIN code?
Oh yeah, a quick clarification, my TCU has the eSIM removed and soldered into the standard SIM slot, but I noticed that in the US this problem also occurs for those who have a native eSIM in their TCU. What can be done about it?
TSB you will not find in ForScan.
Since you’re using a non-NA TCU in a NA vehicle, don’t assume that anything you read for a NA vehicle applies to yours beyond the need to set the country code.
The fact that you can see it in FordPass means the eSim is a non-issue.
As I said, find the VIN for say a 2019/2020 Mondeo sold in your country, pull the AsBuilt for that from Ford and compare it to what is currently in the TCU.
i would expect that you’ll need to make changes through out 754-03-xx &
754-04-xx, even more so if the donor was a Hybrid/PHEV and yours isn’t.
Attempts to find someone with a Mondeo were unsuccessful. Tried to edit the TCU config via AS Built, same thing, the modem goes to sleep after 30 minutes. I even turned off deep sleep in APIM, it didn’t help. What should I do? Is it possible that the modem will go to sleep all the time and there are no solutions? Especially since, as you said, the problem is not in the external SIM card.
What firmware level/calibration level is the TCU at?
Part number for a Mondeo is LS7T-14G229-BL.
You don’t need someone with a 2019+ Mondeo, you just need to find one on a car lot or auto for sale site and pull the VIN from there.
