I have a 2019 Ford Ka with a 8gb non nav apim and recently i´ve got my hands on a 2018 ford ecosport sync 3 apim which as far as we know, has been bricked because of a firmware update.
This unit came from a friend and he didnt explain much, he took the car to a dealership and they installed a new apim unit for him (super super expensive in brazil btw), so he gave the old to me for free and im trying to revive it so i can use this apim on my car.
The code in this unit is HN1T-14G371-DEA, i plugged it into my car and nothing happened, forscan detected it as HN1T-14G371-DEC, i tried updating the firmware with the “Available” files and it doesnt work.
If it was at dea, what should my next step be? When i click on the drop down menu for the calibration level, it shows only the DEC option
Also, with this apim connect to my car, there’s no asbuilt option for the apim, in the dtcs section it says the apim is not compatible with dtcs and when i try to access the apim configurations, it says it’s a sync 1 apim lol
Seems like for this specific apim, 1U5T-******-xx strat and calibration files work just fine, H5BT-******-xx files also make the apim work but the physical radio buttons do not work at all and the menu buttons inside of the sync were a little crazy sometimes.
After a whole bunch of tries, this combination worked perfect: 1U5T-14G374-DA / 1U5T-14G375-DA / 5U5T-14G379–BC (this ecu config/illumination file im not too sure, tried a bunch and they all worked fine it seems.).
The apim is now alive, everything seems to work as intended. Navigation works but seems a little off and sometimes the icon keeps going in a straight line and takes time to correct the gps location. I’m not too sure what could cause this, may be because this car does not come with nav from the factory, even tho it has the gps module.
I’ll drive a bit and update the post if everything works well!
