I will say in my situation, I have left wifi on and I also use the hotspot for internet access with no issues. Been running on the version recommended here for over a month with no issues - after I made sure auto updates was off.

UPDATE
The SiriusXM and Travel Link issues identified in this post have been fixed in Sync 3.4.21194. It is recommended that users update their Sync software to this version.
