This is just a note for Sync 4 owners who may have experienced issues with black screens, or other issues noted in TSB 22-2150 Unable To Update The APIM Or TCU With The FDRS And USB Drive - Module Recovery.
It seems there are a fair number of APIM failures, particularly with the 12" screen variety. It seems to be related to the APIM modules, not the screens. Customers indicate that the screen goes black for no reason, some vehicles are only months old. This appears to be an issue in the OTA software and is recoverable thru FDRS via the USB port on the APIM.
