Hello, I updated my Sync 3 but forgot to tick the navigation option, and now I can’t get it back on even by forcing a format. I’ve checked with Forscan and navigation is enabled. But Cyan says:
Based on the interrogator log, there is not enough space to hold map files. Maybe you had a significantly cut down version of maps installed. But that would have to be manually done.
You can always remake the installation USB drive with Syncupdater making sure you set it up correctly and click on maps this time if you do not believe what everyone is telling you. You will likely get an error installing and may make your sync inoperable perhaps to the point of not being able to recover it.
If I believe what you say, I bought the car new in 2018 and it was equipped with Sync3 with navigation. It lost the navigation when I tried to update it to version 3.4. How to know which map files need to be copied?
If you want to be sure about your unit, you can remove it and take a picture of the tag on the back and post it.
So if I understand you correctly and recap what has happened so far, you bought the car brand new from a Ford dealer with SYNC3 with navigation already installed. You performed a sync update with Syncupdater but did not click navigation and now you have the updated sync but no navigation. The interrogator utility reports that you only have 16 GB of memory on your SYNC3 unit which is the standard memory for non-nav SYNC3 units.
Logically all of those statements cannot be true and unless we can figure out which one is not you are stuck with what you have.
