Update on CarPlay turn-by-turn in IPC?

Hi all,

I know this question has been asked 3-6 years ago, but I don’t see anything recent, and I’m wondering if there’s an update. I have a Ford Transit 2018 with the factory NAV3 Sync system, and I recently updated to Sync 3.4. Is there any indication that CarPlay turn-by-turn directions can be piped through to the instrument panel cluster?

As far as I can tell, it’s still not working. But I recall reading someone posting somewhere (perhaps not here) that with the iOS 26 update, CarPlay directions were appearing in IPC. So I wondered if there was any good news.

And, if consensus is that it still doesn’t work, has anyone found an answer as to exactly why? Is it Apple’s problem, or Ford’s, or both?

And, to clarify: it is confirmed that Android Auto works in turn-by-turn, right?

Thanks!

I don’t know if AA works, but CP will work but this is vehicle model specific.

If you originally had NAV from the factory, and you have the electronic IPC that worked with the factory NAV, then yes, it will work, but still this requires the electronic IPC, not the needle and gauge type.

In the IPC, use FORScan and look at the ENSS settings for your IPC if they exist. You need to make sure that ENSSNAV is enabled.
