Updated APIM Black Screen

Evening,

I have a SYNC 3 upgrade kit I bought a few years back as my 2015 ford mustang didn’t come with SYNC 3. With the kit all I had to do was install it and it was up and running since they already programed it. I was using FORScan to update my APIM and after realized that the system wouldn’t boot up and stays at a black screen. I’ve tried the APIM Firmware Flash Rescue Gen1 text file instructions with no luck and I’m stuck with the black screen still. I have attached my current versions that FORScan is saying my apim is at and the error logs any help would be greatly appreciated.

You need to change the calibration to an earlier version. You have an old APIM that can’t take the newer Calibrations. You really have nothing to gain by updating this.

Thanks for the info do you know what earlier calibration file I should use to get this working again? Sounds like I just flash and earlier calibration and it should start working again?

Shows your on BJT. Maybe walk it back 1 or 2 versions.

And flash all the files not just the changed ones.
You’re still going to do it in one operation

I was looking this morning for firmware files a few revisions back and clicking on to program then factory gives me a hardware not compatible on FORScan error. What files should I be trying to find and download to get this back operational. I did save the logs from the initial firmware update and it looks like I will have to confirm what APIM Module i have as FORScan was unable to read the current firmware.

(OK) [16:53:29.820] APIM Module firmware update has been started
(WARN) [16:53:29.832] Reading vehicle info…
(WARN) [16:53:30.011] Unable to read current firmware p/n, use assembly p/n: GB5T-14G379-AA
(WARN) [16:53:30.035] Unable to read current firmware p/n, use assembly p/n: GB5T-14G379-BA

Start ForScan without a saved profile and see if it can read the hardware identifier.
