Upgrade Sync 3.0 to 3.4 on Ford Mondeo.

I’m planning to upgrade my Sync version to 3.4 on my Ford Mondeo 2017. I’m wondering if this causes screen sizing issues? I saw on a youtube tutorial that after the upgrade you would need to use Forscan to set the configuration to the correct screen size. Has anyone expeiaence with that?
Hope this is the correct forum for my question…

SYNC Region: EU

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 3.0.23219

New SYNC Version: 3.4.23188

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: Official Ford

I assume you are going to do the update to version 3.4.23188 with Cyanlabs as you cannot do it through the Ford site with your model.
If this is the case you should have no issue with the update using 3.0.23219 as your current version.

If you have an 8" screen now you won’t have any issues.
If this is part of a 4" to 8" conversion you need to do a custom Asbuilt config as you won’t be able to use your factory config.

My car like yours is a Ford Mondeo from the year 2017 and with the same version 3.0.x, I have updated to 3.4.x and I have no problem.

I only have a small problem, sometimes when you start the vehicle the GPS does not position itself well, it is solved with a soft reset: button on + forward key

I’d suggest dropping the build down to 3.4.21265 to see if it remediates the issue.

Why do you think this GPS problem would be solved?

Sync3Updater indicates that I can download version 3.4.21265 with the autoinstall method, so I understand that the installation would take a short time, am I right?

If the problem is not solved, could I return to version 3.4.23188 using the autoinstall method?

Sorry, but I was not replying to you, I was replying to @BertClaesen, the original poster who has no issue with GPS.

Your first post was not even on this thread when I replied, it was days after.

Yes you can use Autoinstall to get to .21265 and you can also use it to go back to .23188
