USB Media hub required for sync 3

I have just bought a Ford Focus 2015 from Germany. I bough a screen and apim from the US to upgrade from Sync 2 to Sync 3. I am paying someone to install it for me as I am a total noob and have screwed up before with a ford focus 2004 aftermarket. So I’m not sure what the exact version of my new Sync 3 will be as it has to be installed.

Now to complete my installation kit I only need to buy a USB media hub. Preferably one that supports usb-c (unless i can just add it for cheap in the front. Does that work for apple carplay as well?)

I saw a 2022 link with compatibilities for media hubs, however i don’t understand how to read that link.

My current hub has an SD card slot, line in and one USB -A, see image

I don’t know the part number (don’t know where to find that information), i think it’s FR3T-14F014A-B.

What would you suggest which part number i need to buy so i can either have a usb media hub with usb c or one without and with usb c at the front (whichever option is cheaper)?

For the usb media hub i saw LB5Z-19A387-B has a usb-c. Could i get that one?

And if it’s cheaper to do a regular media hub combined with usb c at the front usb, which to parts do i need?

If you don’t have another USB port up forward you would want to use HC3Z-19A387-F plus a power adapter pigtail (those are on eBay).
Personally I’ve had issues with trying to drop USB C modules in SYNC3 retrofits.

@warlock12118 I do have a usb-A up front! See this image. So what parts should i get in this case?

Shit nobody responded to me so I ordered already another one: HS7T-14F014-AE.

I got it from a 2020 car. Is it ok?

The would be a narrow unit, you may have to get an adapter plate for it to fit the opening.

Alright so the unit itself should support sync 3 in my car?

unit itself should be fine, just a matter of fit and finish
