Any help appreciated, I have a 17 f350 recently did the sync 4 upgrade from sync4upgrade.com would like to get xm to work. A friend told me I need a newer acm with the newer Sirius xm there’s so many options I don’t know where to start here is my factory acm plugs any help appreciated
Could you show a picture of the label on the ACM as well?
I don’t have that I put it all back together for now, it’s a 17 f350 lariat with Sony sound system all I have is the pictures of the connections

thanks for the reply f150chief! i did see your post on another topic my problem is when i look up units on ebay to upgrade only the bh serial numbers have the same exact plug as mine but no hd radio. the ch,fh,fj have both hd and sdars but the aditional blue plug and mine from the factory does not can i buy one of those units and just not utilize the blue plug or will it not work and my only option is a b series unit without hd?
The blue plug is the additional A2B (SPDIF) digital output for the B&O systems. However, you won’t use that for yours, you will maintain the original wiring, but you will need to add the additional wiring specified in the article if it is not present. This is the same in Sync 4 as it is for Sync 3.
I used the KL3T-18D832-CH X40 SDARS w/HDR (2019 F-150) when I upgraded my ACM in my 2015 F-150 Platinum. If you care to maintain the CD player, you will need to use the LR3T-19C107-FF.
okay so i tried reading through the wiring on another article is it splicing new wires in and soldering? i definetly was getting a little confused i would like to retain hd radio and gain new sirius xm but if its a pita to do the wiring vs lose hd radio
It’s not too difficult, but you will need the pins for the connectors. There is no splicing into existing wiring. These would be new wires if they do not exist already. Being a 2017 vehicle, they are likely not present.
Is a 2017 F350 the new restyle, right? NM, it is CGEA 1.3, which is required…
so those pins are empty now or i would be adding an aditonal wire to the pins ? sorry for so many questions ive never dabbled much in the sterio electronics just did the sync 4 upgrade kit and would like my xm to work
If they are empty you need to add the pins and wires. The newer X40 radios will not work properly, if at all, without it.
