… I am currently downloading Sync 3.4.21020 and Map version 2.20 NA
This will be installed on my 2017 Lincoln MKZ using the Syn3 Updater 2.6.3.0.
Will I run into any issues doing this with a Lincoln? I noticed that most of these forums are for “fords” so I want to make sure I am using the correct software. Thank you!
Although it will work fine with your vehicle, it was not designed for the 2017 hardware so Ford would not release it for your vehicle. Ford does not officially support placing the newer software on the older hardware. That said, it works fine and you should not worry. I run the latest software and maps on a 2015 F150 with a 2019 APIM. No issues. If you need assistance, we are here to help.
Thank you. I am in the process of downloading the files but have been constantly getting the following error:
“unable to read data from the transport connection an existing connection was forcibly closed”
I will constantly restart and it will pick up where it left off but I have to get lucky to get the full file downloaded before it gives me the error and restarts. Attaching my log. If this has already been addressed, can you point me in that direction?
You can download the files manually from our manual method guide and put them in the chosen download directory, The connection keeps dropping on fords end and Syn3 Updater doesn’t handle it as well as i would like.
Download the files that you are missing, put them in your download path (according to Syn3 Updater) then run Syn3 Updater as normal and it will scan and verify the manually added files.
I have a 2017 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid as well and want to make sure this worked for you before trying it in my car.
I just drove back from Florida to Arkansas. The existing maps could not find POIs and the entrances and exits to major highways like I24 were totally incorrect.
Worked like a charm! I don’t use maps too often on the Sync software but everything installed as it should have. Only problem was getting the files downloaded.
