2013 F150 retrofit sync3 APIM config

Good day,

Ordered an 4” to 8” sync3 from ebay.

Installed it and it was supposed to be preprogrammed but nothing was working.

I managed to do some adjustments and get it to work somewhat but there are still some issues and i hope you could help me out.

  1. Under climate everything is blank as as far as I understand that wont be able to work with my 2013 F150 XLT(?)

  2. When i change the volume it shows me the level of volume but when i adjust the heat or fan i dont get a level indicator whatsoever for heat/fan level.

  3. Sometimes when i start my truck, plug in my iphone and carplay works, but when i do a put stop at a gas station and turn off the truck for 5min and come back and plug my phone in again carplay pops up and i press play on ytmusic/spotify it will continue to play the radio station and not from car play.

  4. I have a feeling the unit never shots off completely… i turn off the truck, pull the key out, open the door and the unit shuts off, shows splash screen, music stops, splashscreen turns off and goes black and 5 seconds after the music continues to play from a radio station and stops after a few seconds but the backlight of the unit is still on(visible at night)

  5. Under audio/source i dont have siriusxm as an option, i have am, fm, cd and bluetooth.

  6. I can preset radio stations to slots but when i click on the slots to select them after i save them, it wont change to that station(but i do hear a beep)

You’ll have to research a vehicle with the same combination /specs as the one you’ve just built, grab its VIN number and get the asbuilt for that.

Look for a 2016 F150 on Carfax with the same trim and feature, that was the first year for Sync3 in the F150 it will be closest to what you have.

Thank you, i will give the 2016 F150 a try and update if i have success.

No sucess, tried different vehicles and fixed a few flaws but my climate controlls still dont indicate or at least changes in fan spead/heat

Please post the model number of the APIM, and an Interrogator file of the APIM.
