2014 C-Max Hybrid SE – SYNC 3 retrofit (Focus APIM + Focus CD player + 2013 C-Max keyboard) – Low volume + control issues after ANC disconnect

Hi everyone,
I’m doing a SYNC 3 retrofit on my 2014 Ford C-Max Hybrid SE and I’m stuck with low volume and control problems.
Parts used:
• APIM + 8” Display from 2017 Ford Focus
• CD Player (ACM) from 2017 Ford Focus
• Keyboard / Control Panel from 2013 C-Max SEL (using AliExpress 4-pin to 8-pin harness)
• APIM programmed with 2013 C-Max SEL data (7D0-01-01: 2328 E103 C0C8)
Current situation:
Everything works,Bluetooth,carplay,all other sync3 functions,
• I have unplugged the ANC harness (ANC microphones disconnected)
• Using 1151 F400 and 1111 F400 in ACM
• Sound plays but volume is low on maximum
• Previously with 10A0 F400 I get loud sound but lose volume knob/steering wheel control
• Control (knob + steering wheel) works with 1151 F400 / 1111 F400 but volume stays low
What I’ve tried:
• Multiple ACM values in 727-01-01 (1151, 1111, 1051, 10A0, etc.)
• Changed 727-01-02 to 0000 & 0400
• Full resets and power cycles after every change
• Loaded 2013 C-Max APIM data for better keyboard compatibility
Current issues:
• Low max volume even after disabling ANC
• Some values cause no sound or shattering
• Want loud volume + working volume knob/steering wheel control
I have attached current ACM and APIM As-Built screenshots.
Any advice on ACM configuration or other lines I should adjust would be greatly appreciated.
Im in dier need help ,so frustrated on myself for changing all these.
Thanks in advance!

Well lets start with the basics, you can’t drop the ASbuilt from a 2013 which would have at best Sync2/MFT into a Sync3 APIM.

The ANC has nothing to do with the Sony, you have a separate DACM-C in the car, your best bet is to use an AB from a 2016 CMax with Sync3 as a base.

Thanks for advice, Tried , got volume control but loose sound quality ,updating sync 3 to 3.4 using cyan lab updater , hope that works ! Attaching new apim data

If i connect factory cd player of 2014 cmax se directly to factory harness and display of 2017 focus to factory 12 pin connector and Bluetooth module through aftermarket harness , everything works like as it is but then i loose microphone, have to attand calls on speaker on phone. Thinking about using same setup and attach aftermarket microphone by slicing wires …

Odd’s are this will have no effect. It’s very rare that it does.

Yeah you’re right, did update and got hev data on the screen , however it’s meaningless, so my current setup is like - factory 2014 cmax se ACM + 2017 ford focus APIM + 2013 ford cmax sel CONTROL PANEL + 2016 ford cmax AB DATA = good sound + quality + carplay+bluetooth +microphone is working , only one this is missing and its feedback of microphone, for an example, if im on call , other person can listen to me but I can’t listen to them. If i command something on siri , it applies but the feedback is not coming out of speakers.

Is there anyone who’s experienced and help me out here ! I would really appreciate it. Thanks

Ok, you’re using an ACM with HD which means it came from a car with the Sony sound system.

When you do this, you need to drop the AB from your vehicle into the ACM as the donor config is going to be expecting the Sony DSP which your car doesn’t have.
