2016 F-150 XLT: Sync 1 -> Sync 3 retrofit - OEM backup camera, right side steering wheel controls not working after installation

I have a 2016 F-150 XLT that had the 4" SYNC 1 setup. I purchased a SYNC 3 head unit online, gave the seller my VIN which I assume they inputted in somehow. I ordered a SYNC 1 to SYNC 2 harness, connected everything, and everything worked except:

USB hub
Backup Camera
Right steering wheel controls

After some research I realize that I needed a couple other things to complete the sync 1 connections to sync 3. I got a USB extension to connect the USB hub to the SYNC 3 head unit, and I got a 4" to 8" PNP adapter that supposedly captures the backup camera signal from the proprietary sync 1 connector. USB extension worked for the hub, backup camera is connected to the SYNC 3 unit’s harness through a yellow video cable now thanks to the adapter. Everyone works now except:

Backup Camera
Right steering wheel controls.

When I put the vehicle into reverse, there is no transition to the backup camera. I don’t even get a black screen. It’s as if I don’t have a backup camera. Here is a link to the harness I got to convert the connection to a video cable: Amazon.com

When I use the right steering wheel controls to change volume, change a song, nothing happens. It’s as if it’s not even connected.

So the question is, what am I doing wrong? Do I need to reprogram the vehicle using FORscan?

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: MY20

Old SYNC Version: 3.0.25306

New SYNC Version: 3.4.20220

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
No indication that backup camera is activated when the vehicle is in reverse - SYNC 3 screen does not change.
No right-side steering wheel controls work

You did nothing wrong and yes you will need to program the APIM for your truck features. It is likely the camera asbuilt values are wrong as is the steering wheel controls.
Or you could contact the seller and have them try.

The hub I’d expect to have to replace on a 2016 if you have one which isn’t just a pail of USB ports, some had the dual USB along with an 1/8" audio jack.

RVC and the right hand controls sounds like something wrong in the config.
Save your APIM config and download one for a VIN that came with Sync3 and use AsBuilt Explorer to find the deltas.

Yes I did get a new USB hub and it does work, forgot to mention that. Carplay does work & all.

First place that comes to mind would be 7D0-02-02 xxxx-xxx0-xxxx that’s a setting for CANBUS vs LIN (8)

Still a bit confused since this is all new to me but I will do my best to figure it out. The company I purchased this item from has offered to remotely go in & resolve the issues for me. Hoping this works, I will keep you posted.
