Interesting approach… from the top of my head, I do not remember this being an issue in the past, but there’s always a first… Having to go to 2.2 to enable CP/AA is not that uncommon, but not a lot of users have to do that…
Can an APIM boot without a screen connected?, if so, unplugging it would also be a valid test…
I think in the same way ref0rmat won’t work without a compatible screen the same will happen for this. so i don’t think removing the screen will help test this.
It’s well known that newer versions of SYNC had aditional display drivers, same for the non-public ref0rmat tool (presumably)
I just figure since he just had it replaced at a dealer it would have been replaced with a MY20 and they put the older version software on it to keep it in line with the upgrade path Ford intended.
