Hello!! I recently swapped my Apim and 4" Screen out of my 2017 F350 to a 2019 Super Duty apim and Screen(junk yard). I repinned the harness to match the 2019 apim, replaced the usb hub, APIM, FCIM and screen. Since doing this everything works fine except for the GPS and the voice commands. I am waiting for the pig tail to come in for the GPS module and I will wire it in, but my real problem is that I cannot hear the voice commands coming back out of the apim, such as the “sync… please say a command” or my phone call audio (bluetooth or usb). I can stream music fine through Carplay and all other inputs play audio just fine. Is there something i’m missing?
SYNC Region: NA
Navigation Variant: Nav
Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20
Install Type: Retrofit
Old SYNC Version: 3.020204
New SYNC Version: 3.020204
Do you have a error message, if so what is it?
I get an error message when trying to update because if the GPS module not being installed
Have you tried turning up the volume when the command response is played or during a phone call?
What ‘pig tail’ are you referring to? The antenna cable?
Do your climate controls work properly?
Thanks for the response, I did try changing the volume during a call or when the prompts are on screen with no change.
I ordered the pigtail to wire in the GPS module. My truck was a non GPS truck originally
Yes thankfully all my Climate controls work fine.
Not sure if this help, I did try to swap my ACM from a 2019 truck and I did get my voice commands back, however I could not change the volume from the steering wheel or the FCIM volume knob. The screen showed that the volume was on “6”, however the volume was equivalent to #“30”
Hello!! Use I have the GPS antenna installed and the compass is working correctly. I may still need to update the GPS module, because I am still getting a GPS error
Are you using an OEM antenna or an aftermarket one that came with a kit? If it is one that came with a kit that error will not go away as the antenna is not grounded out like an OEM one would be.
I did not get a kit, I pieced together what I believed I needed myself between the junkyard and work ( I work in a ford dealer). The antenna was an aftermarket one from amazon. I had a hard time finding in the parts catalog the wiring that split the roof mount antenna to the apim and the acm. I still have the factory roof top antenna and the factory ACM in the truck. I really question if I need to swap the ACM, it looks like the ACM part numbers are different from 4" to 8" screen
You can start here, This is an Explorer one but they are all the same. I have an Expedition one around here somewhere which would be the same for all F series.
