2017 Ford Escape Surround Sound Sony Sound System

What is your SYNC Region? Canada

What was your Old SYNC Version? 3.0

What is your current SYNC Version? 3.4

Do you have Navigation? Yes

Have you read the documentation at Syn3 Updater - CyanLabs ? Yes

Do you have a error message, if so what is it? No

Please describe in detail your issue below

Completed the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.4 with map upgrade. The car has the Sony OEM sound system. There was a selection for sound mode where you can change from stereo to surround. I don’t see that option after upgrade. Is it something I can enable with Forscan in APIM?

Thanks,

Did that, still the same. Option not display.

The only setting I am aware of is this…The NAV Repeater function affects you nav display in the IP, so be careful what you select there.

Found it,

It is a Forscan function, access APIM through the OBDII. There is a setting as F150chief said. Surround Sound Available in Occupancy Mode

Instead of going to the AsBuild, Ford Escape has this in CC mode so it was in the selection menu

Thanks,

If the change wasn’t to the AsBuilt then this SYNC update had nothing to do with this issue then.

The selection was there before the update as it came as stock from Ford.
It was after the update that the selection was no longer there.

I might be going off to a tangent at this point, please correct me if I made a mistake here.
Since the SYNC update was done by redownloading the APIM, is it possible that the default value was also downloaded as well from the file? ie, the OEM enable the Surround Sound. But the update file that was downloaded did not have surround sound enable (disable as default value) Therefore when it download, it downloaded that to the APIM as well?
