2018 mondeo sync 3 help

I have a vehicle here, 2018 ford mondeo with a sync 3 unit with nav. it was faulty and the unit wouldnt get past the Ford logo screen. I sourced a replacement APIM module from a repair shop that sells them but it didnt have NAV all other functions worked ok. So we returned it for another unit with NAV. But the voice guidance on the maps doesnt work. the volume dips but there is no speech. I have tried all volume settings and turning volume up when speaking is on etc. Nothing makes any difference. I have down graded software and upgraded software and maps to latest versions but it has never changed the voice guidance, also the actual arrow on the map of the vehicles position is way off where i am actually driving.

My main question is are all APIM modules interchangable?
my origianl faulty unit was a 2018 module and part number JS7T-14G370-AFA.
Replacement unit is a 2020 model and part number LU5T-14G371-GMF from a ford fiesta/puma.
Is this likely to be the issue as nothing i chnage with software seems to work.

In general, all APIM’s are interchangeable.
LU5T-14G371-GMF is a very common unit, 64GB NAV. (DO NOT REFORMAT.)

You have apparently lost GPS lock for the unit, which needs to be fixed to have the unit operate properly. Check your connection of the GPS antenna?
