2020 F150 no NAV Use Syn3 to reload

Got a used 2020 F150 and it has the non NAV unit which is fine but is there a way to reload sync3 latest over the existing install. It seems like its just buggy as sometimes it lags really bad and requires the 2 button reset to get it working again. This 2020 sync is so bad compared to the 2017 NAV unit we have in an explorer. I tried to get the file from Ford but if your unit is already updated there is no way to download it again to do it locally on a SUB drive.

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: Official Ford

Have you performed a master reset?
This should set the unit less AM/FM stations back to factory default.

I just did that we will see how that fares. It was reset at the dealer but it updated after i got it and its been terrible since.

Next thought after this would be to use either the official update from syncmyride.com (if it will let you pull down .23188) or to create an RWDATA cleaner using the Updater.
The official will run the cleaner first before checking to see if you have .23188 already installed, the cleaner created using the Updater will clear the RWDATA without trying to reload .23188

Can you re run the interrogator log after the master reset?.

That’s really odd, it should not be that full on 3.4.23188.

If a Master Reset did not fix it, chances are the APIM is unwell.

After master reset.

I dont see how on syncmyride to download the USB updater if your already updated to latest. Know any other way to get to it?

That does not look good to me, the rwdata partition has a lot of info …

Have you tried running the rwdata cleaner? I doubt it would help, but still …

One last thing you may do is reformatting the unit, but you can’t use Syn3Updater ‘s reformat package… You would need to look into FMODS’ universal reformat package that game be ran against MY20 units.

After rwdata cleaner

So no change.

Easiest way is to grab a VIN from a used car site as those are rarely current.
