I have a 2020 Ford Escape base model with a 4" screen but I changed it to an 8" as I want to get Andriod Auto to work so I can see my maps on the bigger screen when driving. When I did this change, I could only see the top left corner working (except when in reverse the whole screen worked). I dowloaded the latest syn3 updater and plugged it into my car. The screen went blank. I could only sometimes get the Ford logo up and the screen also worked when in reverse. Then I Created an Interrogator Log USB and plugged this into the car’s USB. I later did a hard reset and then the whole screen worked in its blue software (as shown in google), except I could not get Andriod Auto to work. I can see it in the settings, but it doesnt work on my phone. I can play music off my phone and makes calls etc, but my maps is still displayed on my phone (I do have Adriod Auto on my phone). The syn3 updater I downloaded was the one without maps as I wasn’t sure it would work with my APIM. The new screen I have is compatible with Ford maps: LJ6T-18B955-FC.
Should I download the Syn3 with maps? I do not know if my APIM has Navigation? How do I get it work with Andriod Auto? I am going into Ford to fix something else, should I say something to them?
