A few issues

Originally, this was a factory Sync2 truck. I upgraded to Sync3, non-nav APIM.

First issue

I’ve been having this issue where the screen will be stuck at “loading” when I turn the truck on. Often times, powering the truck off/on will resolve the issue. It’s annoying. How do I fix this?

Second issue

“Please turn your vehicle off to preserve battery power” or something the sort. I did replace the battery but I also reset the BMS with Forscan. How do I fix this?

Third issue

After updating the ACM/APIM firmware’s using Forscan 2.4 (beta), my APIM now thinks it’s a NAV version. How do I fix this?

Did you do a master reset after the 23188 version upload to the truck?

If it came with that version perhaps try a master reset anyway.

At least once. The latest time was this afternoon.

The only other thing I can suggest is to try downloading 3.4.23188 again from Cyanlabs disabling maps with a new reputable flash drive and upload it to the car ensuring you do not remove the flash drive when first suggested on the screen and do a master reset later.

Where did you get the .AB file that you loaded into the Sync3 APIM?
You can’t drop your original MFT one in and one of the settings in the .AB is Nav/no Nav.
Everything you describe could easily be a bad config.

The firmware files were downloaded by the Forscan app. Any of the Sync3 updates I’ve done have come from Cyanlabs.

Ok, so I take it your using the AsBuilt from the donor vehicle or is it one you cobbled together using ForScan?

Since the 2013 didn’t come with Sync3, you can’t use your factory AsBuilt as that was for MFT, this is where VIN custom programming comes in since you basically have to for lack of better term “translate” a Sync3 file so that it works in a vehicle that never had it.

Could you post your present as built from the APIM?

Here you go -

Did you replace the USB media hub as well when you did your MFT to Sync3 conversion?
Do you by any chance know the part number that you used?

Yes, it was replaced. I do not know the part number but I recall it came in Ford packaging.

Wired carplay works.

Change 7D0-01-02 from 0401
to
Change 7D0-01-02 from 0001

Probably will be fixed when you change the Nav setting.

Recalibrate the BMS. Reset the BMS, drive the truck and charge the battery fully. If you use a charger to do this, it will need to be a high-capacity unit that will charge 50A continuous. Then Park the truck for at least 8 hours so the BMS will cal on the charge state. See if that helps.

Thanks @F150Chief. I’ll try this tomorrow.

Make sure to connect the negative terminal to another point other than the battery. If you put the negative directly on the battery it will bypass the BMS sensor and it will make the system think it is lower than it is.

It’s been a few days since I changed it @F150Chief and so far so good. It’s working like it should and my wireless CarPlay adapter is working great.

Thanks for the help.
