ACM Update for all SiriusXM channels

I upgraded my F-350 to a 2016 APIM with the latest 3.4 firmware. The original ACM has Sirius, Sony Premium and CD. My question is can I upgrade the ACM now to get Sirius XM for the added channels?

That’s an entirely different ball of worms.
To be able to use X40 you have to replace the ACM with a X40 compatible unit (there’s a thread on this), modify the wiring harness by adding additional wires between the APIM /ACM and you need at least a K (2019) or L (2020) series APIM in order to have the firmware to support X40.
Once you have all that you have to modify the config of the APIM with ForScan to tell the APIM you have an X40 ACM.

Technically possible, yes. In reality, though, tracking down an ACM with the old form factor, old style of connectors, AND X40 isn’t easy or cheap. That combination only existed for a short window of time and narrow span of options.
You’re likely going to have to say goodbye to the CD player; Ford began phasing those out in MY 2018 and I’ve yet to see an X40 ACM with the old connectors and CD.
See this thread for possible model numbers to look for: SiriusXM X40 Upgrade with X40 Capable ACM in Sync 3 Equipped North America Ford/Lincoln vehicles
For your search, note that the best way to confirm X40 is running the donor VIN through the Motorcraft portal, then checking the resulting as-built against the Cyanlabs database. You can quickly rule out older Sirius units because the SDARS ESN is a long number - newer SiriusXM chips have a shorter alphanumeric ESN.

The Ranger had them 2019 through 2021 and maybe later. 2020-2021 Mustang LR3T19C107FF also had x40 with HD and a CD player. Maybe other years on those also.

Your vehicle is a 2015 F-350, which is CGEA 1.2 format. Be aware that Sync 3.4 has depricated support for CGEA 1.2 in favor of the current standard CGEA 1.3. You will find Sync 3.4 does not support several features in the vehicle like full A/C control, etc.
I have not seen anyone report that this modification to add X40 has been successful on a CGEA 1.2 vehicle. That does not mean it will not work.
That said…The 2016 APIM will not work for SiriusXM X40.
For the F-series with Sony Premium Audio you want this ACM: KL3T-18D832-CH X40 SDARS w/HDR (2019 F-150). The 18D832 models have the ability to be set to 4 channels of fixed audio output to feed the Sony DSP. The 18D818 and other newer models can not be configured in this manner. You can use a KL3T-18D832-BH if you don’t care for HD Radio.
You want this APIM: Assembly part numbers, KL3T-14G370-PCH with Nav or KL3T-14G370-PBH without Nav.
APIM part number: KU5T-14G371-CDF/BDF.
These match directly up to the ACM and Sony system with just a few asbuilt settings.
You will need to add the SDL wiring to your vehicle. See the document FPIU posted above. Other information needed for programming is contained in that document.

These are still available.
LR3T-19C107-FF is X40 with a CD player, HD Radio.
The 19C107 and 18D832 radios are the previous style connectors. These also can be retrofit to the Sony audio systems. The 18D818 units will not retrofit to the Sony audio systems natively, although they will work for the B&O/Revel systems using A2B connections.
