hey guys looking to update my GF SYNC to get car play been reading a bunch and have already replaced the usb hub and did a official upgrade from 1.0 to 3.0 however carplay does not work ( what a nightmare that was took two days and the usb plugged in then finaly just updated ) … from what i read cyan labs update to 3.4 should do the trick for car play ( the usb hub was confirmed the correct part number from dealer also purchased from dealer/ box says HC319A387F // NUMBER ON ACTUAL PART IS HC3T-14F014-BE) now its a 2016 ford edge titanuim and ive also read that if i upgrade i might run into issue wth the PAM parking sensors and self parking feature how likley is this and is there a way to see what version firmware im running through diag screen or something for the sesnor module? normaly i would just take the dive but its not my car and my gf will kill me if its not a smooth upgrade lol ( should note that orginally when i plugged the usb hub in, got a error saying the hub is not supprted but after a master reset that msg went away and it reads my phone for usb music play use ) sometimes i get a msg saying usb device not supproted but that could be the cable as well ! i did test with a new anker cable and also a few others and some did not get that error

only error msg that showed up first time around before the master rest was the
"usb hub not supported " then after that usb device not supprted time to time

If you updated directly from Sync 3.0 version 1 to Sync 3.0.20204 or 23219 then CP might not work. There is an interim upgrade to Sync 3.0 version 2.2.17109 or so. This is only important if you plan to stay with Sync 3.0 series and not upgrade to Sync 3.4. If you upgrade to Sync 3.4 you can use the Syn3 Updater to go directly there thru the reformat process. Keep in mind you cannot go back to Sync 3.0 once you reformat the Sync unit.

As for the PAM parking sensors and self parking features, these all work in Sync 3.4. There is no prevalent issue associated with Sync 3.4 in this respect. Remember what you read in some of the forums is a very small percentage of the actual upgrades performed and rarely reflect the ones that went well.

If you use the Syn3 Updater to run the Interrogator Utility you can see the information you are looking for about the APIM.
