Ambient lighting not working after update

I have a 2018 Expedition and just updated from 3.0.20204 to 3.4.22251. I don’t see any errors as of now and it shows updated successfully but my ambient lighting is not working. The controls are there but no lights.

Did you perform a Master Reset? If not, do that and then test again.

I also have an 18 Expedition and am on 22251 so I know it works. The Ambient lighting is controlled from the Body Control Module so the communication link must have been lost. Like F150Chief said a master reset will usually fix this.

That means that the file did not validate for some reason and was downloaded again. The file was incomplete, corrupted, or did not pass the checksum. It happens…
If you look at the logfile completely, you will find at the bottom it will say all files downloaded successfully or not.

When you bring up the ambient lighting menu in Sync, is the menu greyed out or do the controls all work? Can you drag the slider up and the lights change?

Are the headlamps on? Or the headlamps switch set to ON or AUTO?

Hold the Radio Power button and Next Track, until screen goes black. Do that 2 times in a row, then try the menu again.

So the good news is the Ambient lighting does work since it comes on when you open the doors.

Like F150Chief said you should check the Ambient light menu to make sure it is all set right. During the day it turns them off so you might have to check this in a dark garage or something.
