Android Auto no longer working

Android Auto works on my Sync 3.3.19052 with an older cell phone. It will not work, doesn’t even show up on the screen, with my new cell phone. My cell phone does state that Android Auto is connected, but nothing shows up on Sync and I cannot get an Android Auto display on Sync.

I thought a software update would solve the issue, but my Sync will not update to the 3.4.21265. I followed the directions, but I don’t get any notice or info screens that are shown on the site. My USB card blinks as if it is being read, but no update occurs after 90 minutes of waiting. Is this a Sync issue? USB ports provide power so they seem to work.
Note: Sync3 purchased from 4DTech in 2020 to replace the Sync2. Installation went well and worked perfectly until I upgraded my phone. I’m not sure if there is anything that can be done. Just hoping someone has an idea.

Update log shows previous version as 3.4.21265. You said you had 3.3.19052 so I would guess this needs to be corrected before it will work.

Also is this a USB stick or a Drive? it will only work with higher quality USB sticks and this does not even show the brand.

That’s the version I selected, not what the truck says.

that means you configured Syn3 Updater wrong as it asks for your current version and you have the wrong version specified, that said as they are both above 3.2+ it doesn’t actually matter in this case.

That is exactly what he told you, you configured it wrong.
Also, use a quality branded USB.

Only use the Sync APP and VOICE files. You have a NON-NAV APIM which does not have enough storage space to install all 3 files, which will take 2.8GB. (The files are compressed.) NON-NAV NA APIM’s only have 3.0GB of available space, which about 1.2-1.5 GB is needed for operation.
The Sync APP and VOICE files only will take only 2GB.

This is correct. Did it work?

Updating System Software…
Media device not available
MEM_ERR03

Did you try the other USB port if you have one?

Tried both.
Went back and tried to update the App package, no Gracenotes, no voice. Mem_err03. I guess I’ll just have to live with the radio as it is.

Create an interrogator log with Syn3Updater, run it against the APIM and post the produced file here. Redact your VIN in the file’s name and content if you care about it.

Interrogator

Upload the xml file here instead, likely it’s corrupt or the wrong interrogator tool was used.

I’d like to thank everyone who responding to my post. Since I cannot upgrade my Sync past it’s current setting, Ford won’t help, and none of the options offered here have worked, I will leave my system as it is, with a non-working Android Auto. I’m sure it is something I am doing or not doing. I just don’t know what that is. Thank you for having this site and I wish everyone the best of luck.

Like i said last post, uplaod your XML file here or the contents of it (open it in notepad)

This is what I sent to you in a reply email.

You have 1.2G remaining this is why, you will need to free up some space first. have you tried removed the Gracenotes or installing the Small Voice Package? from Utility Tab - CyanLabs

A: I don’t know how to remove or restore Gracenotes.
B: I tried a Voice package, I don’t know if it was small or large. Not sure how to correct, delete, or reinstall the Voice package. What is the Voice package?
C: All I really want is Android Auto back. I don’t need to go past 3.3 at the moment. I don’t know what 3.4 offers.
