Android auto works fine, but Apple Carplay don't. Will update to 3.4 fix it? Plus question about weird APIM

Hi,
Because I don’t want to brick my APIM, I need to ask couple questions:

Short info about the car: I own the 2016 Ford Escape, The car is from the US, but the previous owner modified it’s region (and probably more things) to Poland (504C). It has a SYNC 3 with navigation, and it’s current version is 3.0.18261.

What is the problem: The thing is, I use Android Auto a lot and it’s working well. But recently I switched to the Iphone and hoped that Carplay will work as well.
But when I plug in IPhone 12 via usb cabel, there is info that “IPhone was conneced” (on SYNC screen), but Carplay doesn’t start. I’m able to use apps via AppLink only, and talk to Siri if connected by bluetooth.

The first question: Will update to 3.4 make Apple Carplay works? Or it’s just not possible in this case? Because I only care about smartphone integration, and if it’s pointless to update, I will stay with Android on SYNC 3.0 version.

The second question: Is it possible that GJ5T-14G371-CFC has 64GB of memory, or was it somehow modified? Because according to Hardware Database it’s supposed to has 32GB only.

The third question: Is it safe to update unit with this kind of modifications? And if it is, do I need to cut down the maps to fit 32GB unit even if it says that it’s 64GB

this shows you only have 2 map files installed so likely a cut down EU version

Car Play won’t work without a updated HUB

it’s safe but yes you will need to cut down EU maps to fit on a 32GB but it looks like the guy replaced the Emmc with a larger one as it does appear to be 64gb

@CyanLabs Thank you! I didn’t expect so fast answer. I assume that, by “updated hub” you mean HC3Z-19A387-B, am I right? I will order it right as soon as possible.

for some time now when I try to turn on Android Auto to my Sync 3.4 vehicle, sometimes it turns on, but more often it doesn’t connect. I found that trying to press a few times, in the quadrant (on the radio) Android auto turns on. usb cable and nothing resolved. Someone can help. Thank you.
