Try providing some useful information, "downloaded the pack from the link" doesn't give me a whole lot to go on, which pack? which country? not really sure wehat your issue is,

i would love to agree with you but you are wrong, in order to update the firmware on the device modules it self you need to flash updated VBF files, only the experimental non public Forscan 2.4 can do this via a USB ELS adapter. UCDS also supports this function and it's considered the best option for flashing VBF files.
Forscan can take ~30 minutes to flash these files.
UCDS does it in seconds.
Additionally setting that ASBuilt without updating the VBF's will either not work at al or work only until SYNC is restarted.
Additionally "No need to buy expensive tools which do nothing more than free ones can." Forscan and ELM or similiar adapters also can not write direct config on BCM which is required to enable Cruise Control on the Diesel Focus Mk3.
