I’m 3.4.23188 build looking to update maps
The Syn Update is suggesting this is OK via auto install
Yet the flow diagram says it should be downgrade?
And this “Syn3 Updater has prepared the USB drive using AutoInstall mode. (you are likely on Sync 3.2+ and are not upgrading maps)”

Seems a bit conflictaory?

Yes, you have a point.

The thing is that non ESN locked maps can be autoinstalled, which is the case for the latest EU map pack. If they were locked, you would have to downgrade.

So, in your particular case, assuming you want to install the latest EU maps and you can reformat the unit, you can configure it to use the downgrade method…

If you can reformat the unit, I would recommend that since it’s cleaner and faster
