Back to original Ford updates

Hello. I have Ford c-max 2019, Europe. I have last update on my APIM (3.4.23188 updated from here).
If I would like new Original update from Official European Ford page, what can I do.

Because I can not more update from Official Europe page. On Page show me, I have on Sync 3 APIM old 3.0.20204 version under my VIN number, new is 3.0.23219.
Sync 3 send all information (when I connect with wifi) to USA company, but I want update from Europe, new Europe map.

One question is this update on Cyan Sync3 updater are different for Europe and USA.

Thanks

I dont have.

As you indicate the Ford site still shows your last update with them as 3.0.20204 with 3.0.23219 available for your vin. which is normal for your model vehicle but now you are under the Cyanlabs ā€˜umbrellaā€™ since your updated with them.
You cannot revert back to Ford site updates once you have updated software with Cyanlabs and you now have the latest version 3.4.23188 as you indicated.
I believe the latest maps for Europe and other countries have not been released yet and are currently 2.22 apart from the US which now has NA 2.23.
Once Cyanlabs advises of the release of the latest Europe maps I suggest you update with them.

All updates from Cyanlabs whether software or maps are from Ford and the same as their site updates regardless of country.

Iā€™m on the same situation. Ford fiesta. I see that thereā€™s an official Ford update newer. Same versions as mentioned before.
Are you sure that thereā€™s nothing to do to go back to official updates?
Ok I knew the risks. I take responsibility for installing cyanlab version. So now Iā€™m stuck with an older than official, buggy cyanlab version?
I donā€™t remember anywhere written that we couldnā€™t return to official channelā€¦
The last post is not a solution. The problem is not solved. I recommend that the post remains active until we find a real solution to revert to official update channel.
Please state it somewhere clear that we lose official updates once we flash cyanlab.

I get the error:
Installation error.
This SYNC software is not compatible with the installed SYNC hardware on the vehicle.
Please remove the USB drive. SYNC will restart automatically.

Question 1: What the update reads to say that the hardware is not compatible? Is it just a file we can change to trick the official update?

CyanLabs only downloads true Ford versions from Ford so there is no ā€œbuggyā€ CyanLabs version.

The current update for Sync 3.4.x is .23188 whether youā€™ve got a vehicle that came with 3.4.x or one that was brought to 3.4.x using the Updater.

I have not problem with CyanLabs update. It solved my problem with navigation, there is not find satellite.
But is theme more ugly (I dont like colors of button, some dark blue), and when I change themes, automatic back for Ford simple themes.
ā€œProblemā€ is only, send anonymous message to USA, not for Europe site.
I hate only, because Europe can release new map, or give a date for release new map, as was posted on Syncnavigation.com (date of new map will be release May 23th 2024). This is only for American people, cars.

Thanks

There are NO BUGGY cyanlabs versions, all software is sourced and hosted by Ford. Comments like that lead to people incorrectly losing faith in this forum.

The risks and bonuses of updating to any version is clearly documented, if you failed to read the warnings then thatā€™s on you. I suggest maybe an apology is in order.

Ford is a global corporation and any data is shared company wide as appropriate.

Other than swapping your upgraded APIM for an old and equivalent APIM still running 3.0, yes.

Of course you do, you accepted the disclaimer, so yeah.
But thereā€™s no ā€œcyanlab versionā€, Syn3updater is just a facilitator, all files are Fordā€™s, all of them.

3.4 is newer than 3.0ā€¦
If you only take the last 5 digits thatā€™s the build number, which is entirely up to Ford to release a newer one for 3.4ā€¦ Go to them to complainā€¦

Do you remember a place where it said you could?.
Itā€™s also CLEARLY stated that once you upgrade to 3.4 from 3.0 you canā€™t go back to 3.0.
Also, if you are using Syn3updater is because you clearly wanted to leave Fordā€™s upgrade path, because Ford never wanted you to run 3.4, Ford wanted you at 3.0, an older version of Sync3, and possible with maps from years agoā€¦
But noooo, you wanted the latest, the newest 3.4 so you used Syn3updater to leave Fordā€™s upgrade pathā€¦
Why on earth would you think ā€œoh, Ford is not pushing updates to my 3.0, so I will install the latest 3.4 and they surely will start pushing updates my way, even though my car was never meant to run the newer software Iā€™m sideloadingā€???..

Yes it is, OP asked if thereā€™s a way to return to the official upgrade path having upgraded from 3.0 to 3.4, which is not possible. Hence, the last post is a solution, it cannot be done.

Thereā€™s no problem to be solved, this is literally not a problem.

I will tell you what, feel free to do your research and if you find a solution you can always come back here and create a thread/guide for others to follow.

It may not be obvious to you, but Iā€™m pretty sure most users are well aware of thatā€¦ in fact, if they are using Syn3updater if because they WANT to leave Fordā€™s upgrade pathā€¦

Finally, about your question, this is not the place for that questionā€¦ So if you want, create a new thread.

About the UI, if you really hate the new look and feel, you could install 3.3.19xxx which is really similar to 3.0ā€¦ About changing the theme, it should not revert back automaticallyā€¦
How are you changing it?, if itā€™s from the Sync3 test menu, thatā€™s a temporary change.
For you to change the theme for good, you need Forscan and an adapter to change it at a configuration level (asbuilt).

I hope subsequent posts have made things clearer for you and have confirmed that that you cannot get updates from the Ford site once you have gone down the Cyanlabs track.
I have updated 3 new 3.4 software versions and 2 later maps with Cyanlabs with my 2017 Escape from the original version 3.0.20204 with no issues whatsoever in recent times so my last comments are normally the solution unless something else is going on with the sync hardware or instructions are not properly followedā€¦

Eventually new maps for Europe and other areas will be released and it will be advised here on Cyanlabs.
