I just bought a second hand Ford Kuga PHEV from 2020. In the first days I’ve updated sync over WiFi to latest version (and maps I thought).
Some days ago I realized the maps were not updated so I’ve downloaded the update file from Ford website, 47kB, did the update, uploaded back the installation successful file and I was happy.
Just the page refreshed and I saw again maps update available.
After reading some Facebook groups I realized that I can ask Ford Customer Service directly for the update file.
They provided me a file, put it on USB file, click install but in 10 seconds the update bar disappeared. I let it anyway for 2.5h but nothing happened.
Then i started to get all sort of errors: PKG_ERR03, Automatic updates set to disabled and greyed out, at some point even eCALL error.
I then realized that the update was not even for my sync3 version so I’ve switched to CYANLABS.
After another 2 days of downloading, copying etc I went to my car full of hope that it will finally install the new maps.
Big surprise, as soon as I inserted the USB I got another PKG_ERR03. Tried to stop and start again, reconnect the USB, pressed next, yes (that I want to install) and PKG_ERR03 again.
