Can't update to newest 3.4.23188 from 3.4.21098

I have a sync devices with version of 3.4.21098, it is updated from sync 3.0 using our app. for now, I want to update to newest 3.4.23188 and see if it resolve carplay related issue.
I created the USB drive with the app using autoinstall mode, and plug it to my car before I start the engine, then I start the engine the screen shows “updating system software…”. But after a long time past, it still keep the same with no reboot or any further notice. I restart my car and check the system version, it still keep 3.4.21098 and update failed.

the ways I tried but not work: 1. using different USB drive, not work; 2. using force reformat mode, not work and prompt Error PKG_ERR04;

you can’t reformat from 3.4.23188 as per documentation you need to downgrade

yes, I’m aware of that which means I need to downgrade first for reformat, right? But if I just want to update to 3.4.23188 without reformat, is that possible?

Since your APIM is NO-NAV, most likely it lacks the required free space for processing the upgrade.

thanks for the reply, I have tried to remove the Gracenotes/voice files and the free space is 2.6G in /fs/images/(available=“2.6G”), then I try to use USB to update but still the same (always in updating system software…)

I have to try downgrade and reformat mode, let’s see what will happen.

With that space you should be able to update. Have you also installed the small voice package?.

Also, if you followed the guide it’s mentioned there that you may not have enough free space for gracenotes… So redo the installation USB to avoid installing gracenotes at this time…

yes, I already replaced the voice file with small one. I tried the downgrade mode but stucked in the reformat interface like attached.

I think the gracenotes file should be the point, I will try agian without gracenotes file.

Yes, remove it from the installation and try again.
