Climate Button to Sync 3

My 2019 Navigator does not have the climate button on the Sync 3 screen but I found another Navigator which has the climate button and got both the As-Built-Data for them and wanted to know if anyone knows how I can add the “Climate Control Button” to the Sync home screen.

Was the climate button on a Navigator with Sync3?
You can’t use an AB file from one that came with MFT as a one for one.

You’ll find the AB values for the APIM here, Sync 3 APIM Database - CyanLabs
Use ForScan to look at what your current values are and what they would need to be changed to in order to add a working climate screen.

Thanks for sending the APIM file for Sync3, since I’m new to this I wasn’t able to find which values I need to modify in order for me to add the climate button to the Sync home screen as shown in the screenshot.

If you click on the climate button on the upper right of the page you’ll see the various places you may need to make changes.
For some cars its a single or two field change, for others its more as just enabling the button doesn’t guarantee functionality.

Not sure which values need to be modified since in the spreadsheet there’s no clear direction on which value adds the climate button to the Sync Home Screen.

Download Asbuilt Explorer so that you can look at your current values so that you can get an idea of what needs to be changed

And to answer the question if they would be the same, it’s a “maybe”
“Sister” models like Escape/MKC. Fusion/MKZ etc can have more than just interior and body differences.
To use the Fusion/MKZ even though both were made at Hermosillo.

Fusion upper trim used a Sony DSP/MKZ used THX/Revel
2017-2018 Fusion Hybrids used PDM/DDM that were the same as the MKZ while the non-Hybrids used ones closer to the Edge.
2017 MKZ got the 3G TCU across the board, the Fusion Ti/Platinum got the 4G TCU
The GSM for the Fusion is a dial, on the MKZ it’s integrated into the FCIM.

So while you could use the same setting to make the button appear on the screen, if say the climate repeater is different it could either not work at all or cause other odd gremlins.

Thanks for the details, quick question @warlock12118 since I have the As-Built data for another Navigator which came from the factory with the “soft climate” button, could I use that info to add it to my vehicle?

At the moment I just don’t know what to look at within the APIM As-Built data to make that change.

It depends on the model year.
If it was one that came with MFT instead of Sync3 you can’t use it as the two aren’t one for one.

If you have one that came with Sync3, you would load your AsBuilt and the Asbuilt for the one that has it into Asbuilt Explorer and look for the deltas. The APIM database link I provided above will help you decode them.
