Climate control touch panel not working Taurus SHO

I know looks similar to a previous post but my issue is more serious. The entire capacitive touch panel below the Sync unit is not working, the fan is on full and the heat is no full and I am unable to control any climate functions on the Sync unit. My problems started with a flat battery and I needed to jump start the car. Ever since then the climate control is completely unresponsive. I also notice the clock is wrong but when setting the clock is wont accept and changes.

Large chance your FCIM has gone bad. Do your audio controls still work? Are the buttons lighted?

No, the big volume knob doesn’t work either, no illuminated buttons. The whole panel is dead. First thing i did was check the fuses, but i couldn’t find a fuse for this panel.

Disconnect the car battery for a half hour or so then re-test.

There is a fuse but it is also a fuse that is for 3 other things. It’s either unplugged or dead and needs replacement.

The HVAC stuck on high and blowing heat is exactly what happens when the FCIM goes out.

We’ll it was an easy fix in the end , I disconnected the battery for 30min and reconnected and it just sorted it self out. Thanks for your advice Rollback_Jockey!

There is still one small annoying thing that still now right, I cant set the clock. Every time I change the time after about 3 sec it reverts back. I dont know what timezone it is using but it is not even close to NZ standard time.

There is one thing you could try that has worked for some.
try setting the clock one hour or so ahead and then later reset it to the correct time and see if it retains it.

Is it set to use GPS time?
You may need to drop down to 3.4.21265, there are reports of this type of problem on non-native 3.3+ being upgraded to 3.4.x
