Creating auto usb for 3.4 update

Im trying to create a auto usb to update from 3.0 to 3.4 and the syn3updater only creates me a interrogator tool. ive tried the manual method of creating a update usb but i cannot download the reformat.lst file. when i press the link, i get redirected to cloudfare with it saying bad host.

im stuck with syn3 only making a interrogator usb and i cannot do the manual method either due to missing files i cant download.

SYNC Region: NA

Navigation Variant: Nav

Manufacturer Year: Pre MY20

Install Type: OEM

Old SYNC Version: 3.0.17276

New SYNC Version: 3.0.17276

Do you have a error message, if so what is it?

Update Method: CyanLabs Manual Method

Gotta go to your vehicle and do the interrogator.

Once that’s done go back to Syn3Updater and select the interrogator file and proceed to create the update USB.

IF you’re positive your module hasn’t been swapped out with a MY20 module, go into the updater and turn off the MY20 protection.

Let me know if you need more assistance.

16 F350 came with Sync 2/MFT so it could be anything since it’s a retrofit.

Yes it’s a 2018 APIM out of an Explorer Sport. I’ve verified the build date on the back of the apim. Don’t remember the month but it’s a 2018.

I did do the interrogator and got the info from the apim but I didn’t see an option to create the file afterwards, only to copy the apim data. I will have to take a stab at it again tomorrow!

If I turn off the MY20 protection, will it create the usb update without having to doing the whole interrogator deal? Just curious

Didn’t see his profile. You’re absolutely correct.

Yeah, it’ll bypass any ‘MY20’ protections, which is the step where you create the interrogator log. Honestly you should be able to bypass it when creating a new USB stick fairly easily by hitting NO when this Warning prompt pops up.

Keep in mind that bypassing the interrogator is done completely at your own risk.

This has been fixed, a slight misconfiguration that wasn’t apparent until a recent update that enforced the correct configuration.

Yeah I’m 1000% certain it’s a 2018 APIM. Pulled it from a 2018 myself and made sure it was an OEM APIM/screen.

I’ll give it another shot this afternoon! Thank you

Thanks for all the help fellas, turned off MY20 protection and got the usb loaded up and installed 3.4 on the truck.

Works flawless!
