Did the Syn3 updater stop asking if your vehicle is MY20? The red box with the questions is not appearing

I downloaded the latest Syn3 updater and chose options for my vehicle w/Nav and the MY20 questions have not come up. Is this something new? I want to be certain it is ok to update to 3.4.23188

I came here with the same question. I also have 22251 on my 2020 Explorer. After watching the tutorial video, I am afraid to try it. But I see some people have done the update using the CyanLabs updater and resolved the memory issue.

Last time I did it the red box was there asking the questions to verify if the car had MY20 APIM , I have since misplaced that USB Drive and went to do it again and the MY20 questions that pop up in the red box is gone. I am now hesitant to do the upgrade for fear of bricking my Sync in my 2020 Escape Ti Hybrid. I am also running 22251 and want to update to the 23188.

There’s no need for Syn3updater to check for MY20 since your operation is keeping maps, so autoinstall is used.

Reformat is the preferred way for upgrading maps, since it takes less time and it’s cleaner. For upgrading just the apps or other packages, autoinstall is used.

Again, there’s no need for MY20 checking if the installation mode is autoinstall.

Man, you have a MY20 model. MY20 checking is “useless” to you: enable MY20 protection since you know your vehicle is MY20, there’s no need for Syn3updater to check/confirm that for you.

MY20 checking is only useful for users that are unsure about that, since you have a MY20 that does not apply to you.
