Can you post the installation log from Syn3 Updater, please…

I noticed this is NON-NAV and errors at about 11 minutes. Remove the Gracenotes file and try again, probably short on memory.

Tomorrow I will add an installation log with Syn3 Updater.

I am changing US region to EU without navigation. Is there a chance that there is insufficient space in SYNC3 on the ENH-DAB 1U5T-14G658-AF? Can I install without this file since there is no DAB tuner in the car anyway?

You probably can install the file but it will do nothing for you until the ACM is replaced with an EU version. I would take it out along with Gracenotes and just install the app and voice files, then see what space is left on the system for the other files. You can add each one separately with autoinstall.

I have successfully installed Versions 3.4.21194 for the USA region.
Tomorrow I will do more tests.

What does Gracenotes file contain?

Gracenotes is just album art and song information.

Yesterday I installed version 3.4.21194 without navigation US region, everything worked fine.
Today I prepared EU (too 3.4.21194) installations without navigation using Sync3 Updater. I deleted the GRACENOTES.

After putting it in the car, it started updating and it has been going on for over an hour (photo).
What could be the reason? What’s missing?

Shouldn’t there be a downgraded version first?

You may not have enough space.
Read this Tutorial: Sync 3.4 NON-NAV APIM: Failure to Update to Newer Version Sync 3.4

Also, since you are changing regions, you are trying to flash more things that an equivalent APIM would for US. DAB, for instance I think.

Check the tutorial to troubleshoot space issues.
Also read what has been said before about DAB.

Thanks for the tips.

Maybe the reason is too little space. I have already changed regions many times, only on APIM with NAVI. I already have it under control. I thought the version without navigation would be simpler but forgot about less memory available.

Yep, but I think that when you create an EU package, DAB are installed as well. So maybe exclude gracenotes and DAB, depending on the amount of free space at the end of the process you might install some other package.

Thanks. I will do it and write how the results.

Did you sort this out? If not, try this…

When the voice file is installed, it installs as an uncompressed copied image to the Sync unit, which takes as much memory as the currently installed voice file, let’s say about that much. This means you have 2 voice files on the system at one time, one active, the other inactive. Until the system is rebooted, the system will not delete the old voice.img and install the new file voice_new.img, renaming that to voice.img. So, when you add the Sync App and possibly Gracenotes in the same installation instance, without rebooting, the system runs out of memory to process the files. Installing the voice file first, then rebooting, maintains enough free space as possible to install the Sync App (and Gracenotes if possible).

Everything was installed successfully. The problem was actually the amount of free memory. I did everything according to your instructions and it went smoothly.
Thanks again for your help.

Now I’m going to buy the F150 with Sync 4, these will be new challenges
