hmm, i am also coming from a sync 2 system, did you use a cheap chinese GPS module? because otherwise the existing sync 2 antenna won't work on sync 3

There is no official changelog from ford therefore there will not be a changelog from me either, you can easily use my downgrade packages to go to older versions while keeping your F9 maps ;)
to 3.3 it should be quite easy, use one of my downgrade packages and replace it with a 3.3 app version and update the autoinstall.lst, but i don't think this is the issue, i have another one from amazon coming tomorrow as i think my GPS antenna died, mine was also from amazon.
So many questions.
1. No idea i don't use siri nor do i use any built in text message functionality as i use Android Auto mostly.
2. F8 was last year i believe, F9 this year.
3. Probably around the same time next year.
4. No updating will never work via WiFi and even if it does i would recommend against it.
5. Depends on the license situation, NA and CN need a license, EU can technically do autoinstall.lst files, i assume your are EU since the isntall took 50 minutes, which is around what mine takes in the UK.
sure then you can do simple update packages, the problem is to maintain all regions plus all update routes is a pain so i only do reformat.lst mostly.
i'd rather spend £7 every 2 years than pay £70 for a genuine one and still need a adapter also. but thanks

Depends on car etc but if you are going from sync 2 to sync 3 you need adapters etc.
