Ford Sync 3 update Issues

Im trying to update my 2016 ford escape from version 1.0 to literally any version that has carplay. Ive swapped my USB ports, but every time i try to update my car with USB, the update fails. Now it tells me something like “there was a problem with one of your install files”.

Im trying to use the Syn3 updater, but in the “versions” drop down menu there is no option for “1.0”. What should i do?

The updater does not support going from say 3.0 1.x to 3.0 2x in your case it only supports reformating and going to 3.4.x.

To get to a 3.0 2.x build you need to do this by hand, format a good quality USB as exFAT and download the files from: HN1T-14G381-LB - SYNC 3 APIM Software (IVSU) Database - CyanLabs

After that you should be able to go to the ford owners site and get up to the last supported build for your car.
